Tea egg is a Chinese savory food commonly bought as a snack, by which a boiled egg is cracked barely after which boiled once more in tea, and sauce or spices. Telur pindang (the Malaysian variation of the tea egg recipe) is alleged to have its roots in the state of Johor, the place the delicacies is most popular, but it may also be present in different parts of the Malay Peninsula.
